Before you build or modify -- You must verify rules and regulations.
Codes vary by local health departments, not state.
We are not aware of the local codes or rules.
We are not aware of what tanks or items you need.
Class A Customs NSF Letter can be printed or forwarded to Health Department before purchasing any items, to verify that items will pass inspection. This is your responsibility.
Letter has all fresh/gray tank sizes, part #'s, measurements and fittings, along with material tank is made from.
Ask your inspector BEFORE purchasing any items - more information below
NFS Logo Requirements: Does the water tank have to have an NSF Logo? Class A Customs Tanks have NO NSF LOGO
Non-Pressurized Tank: All of Class A Customs water tanks must be vented and can not be pressurized.
Size Requirements: How many gallons is the fresh water tank required to be? How many gallons is the gray water tank required to be?
Shape Requirements: Does the bottom need to be slanted? Can I place the tank on a slanted surface as this would make the tank then slanted?
Fittings Requirements: Do you have requirement on the fittings sizes, placement or materials?
Filling Procedure Requirements: Does the fill dish for the fresh water tank need to have a lockable fill dish? Are there certain materials I must use?
Tank Placement Requirements: Does tank need to be mounted inside or outside of unit
Clean Out Requirements: Do I need a clean out? What size does this need to be?
Pipe and Fitting Requirement: Do I have to use a certian type of piping or a size for the water tanks, sinks, drains, etc?
Class A Customs Tanks have NO NSF LOGO: Forward onto your inspecting helth department our NSF Letter to verify if the tank will work for you before purchasing.
Class A Customs Tanks that are white in color can be used for either Fresh or Gray Water use.
Class A Customs Tanks that are black in color are used to hold Human Waste and/or used water from handwashing sinks, dish sinks, and showers - they are NOT for fresh water use.
Why is there no NSF logo in the tank?
Can I get an NSF logo on my tank?
Class A Customs was required to remove the NSF logo from all water tanks we manufacture in June 2020, the tanks continue to be made from the same NSF Certified Materials, built in the same way, built on the same machines, and built in the same building here at Class A Customs.
The NSF Company does not allow end users of NSF Certified Materials to use the NSF logo unless each kind of item that is produced has a certification paid for each year. This would mean every style of tank Class A Customs makes, even though they are made using the same NSF Certified Materials and made using the same process, we would need to pay to use the logo on each item, every year at a substantial cost.
All Class A Customs Fresh/Gray Water Tanks are manufactured using
Material is safe for Potable Water Materials – Class A Customs Fresh/Gray tanks are safe to be used for fresh or drinking water storage or gray water storage.
The temperature used during testing is 60 +/- 2°C (140 +/- 4 °F) and appears in Listings as "D. Hot". This is intended to apply to product applications where the product is used for either cold (ambient temperatures) or hot water up to domestic hot temperatures.
Because Class A Customs was verified to use and continues to use NSF Certified Materials to build our tanks,
Class A Customs is allowed to link directly to the NSF Website Materials Page and
Class A Customs is allowed to state the tanks are made from NSF Certified Materials.

My Health Inspector said I need a gray tank that is ______ percentage larger than my fresh tank.
15% Large Gray Tank Than Fresh: Multiply (fresh tank size) x 1.15 = Tank needed
25% Large Gray Tank Than Fresh: Multiply (fresh tank size) x 1.25 = Tank needed
50% Large Gray Tank Than Fresh: Multiply (fresh tank size) x 1.50 = Tank needed
I have only so much room how many gallons can I get in that space?
Will this tank fit in my van?
Will this tank fit under my sink?
We do not recommend sizes or verbally give measurements, this is to avoid errors.
Please look at the
Water Tank List located at the top of each webpage or under Navigation Menu on mobile devices to see all tanks Class A Customs sells online.
You would need to compare the measurements of the tank with your available space and determine the best tank for your needs and application.
What fittings will I need for my plumbing?
Do you have a "plug and play" or "concession kit"?
There is no one size fits all application for the water tank set-up, it varies by application, unfortunately we are not aware of what items you will be needing.
Class A Customs sells fittings for our tanks, hoses, fill dishes, and water pumps, you can find all of these in the
Plumbing Category.
